♡ AUGUST FAVOURITES ♡

Friday 11 September 2015

Hi beauties,
August only meant one thing to me, I TURNED 21. Which doesn't exactly mean I'll be acting anymore mature or being easily amused. So of course, I had to include a few of my gifts on here (that I pretty much asked for so they weren't much of a surprise) and I also saw a lot of movies this month seeing as my life isn't very exciting at the moment, including the anticipated Paper Towns.

 Beauty

The only perfumes I seem to use lately are the ones by Marc Jacobs, not only do they smell great but they come in the cutest bottles so how could you not? My sister also treated me to the Naked 3 Palette (probably the best present she's got me in my whole life combined, second to a poster) which I have already made good use of. Or should I say my sister's been practising 10 youtube tutorials with it on me.

Of course my birthday came with a few mac lipsticks to my collection, unfortunately I was given two I already had (great taste though!!) so I swapped them for basically two dark shades of red.

Movies

Paper Towns - I read this book last summer, so I had forgot quite a lot of the plot, but I loved the fact it was based in Orlando and was excited to see what I recognised in the movie from my time spent in that fun city! I did enjoy it, not as much as The Fault in Our Stars but the storyline is interesting, and well it stars Cara Delevigne.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless - This one's an oldie, but it's one that has 394855 GIF's on Tumblr so I felt like I had to check it out. It's an interesting concept, what if you could completely erase all memories you had of an ex partner as if they were a stranger? This movie answers that question. If there's anything you learn from this movie is that memories are only half yours.

Dark Places - This book was fantastic, and the movie was just as good. The acting is great, the storyline is interesting, and it keeps your heart pumping for what's coming next.

Music

I was so excited for this album and it definitely didn't disappoint! Her music puts you in such a chilled/mesmerised state of mind and lyrically her songs are deep and creative AF. My personal favourites on the album have to be "Hold Me Down" "Colors" "Drive" and "New American". Not to mention she's just dope.
