So It's been a long long time since I posted a fashion related post, mainly because I haven't had the time or money to splurge on clothes. I fancied a trip to Westfield last week so did a bit of shopping then before heading back to Gib and getting some new clothes sorted for summer! I usually struggle when it comes to keeping stylish in the hotter months simply because I hate wearing shorts and most of the tops I like would be suited to that or jeans - and ain't no body wearing jeans in 30 degree weather. Here are some of the fashion trends I've been digging for this year!
1. OFF THE SHOULDER TOPS
Especially if they're cropped. I'm loving the whole boho/hippie look this year and channeling Vanessa Hudgens at Coachella. Bershka, Forever 21 and BooHoo have some fabulous choices.
2. CULOTTES
As mentioned I'm not a fan of wearing shorts in the summer, so these make the perfect breezy alternative that are both fashionable and comfortable! If you have thick thighs and a smaller waist like I do they're also a lot more flattering than short shorts or cropped trousers.
3. PASTELS
This makes a comeback summer after summer, because who really wants to stick to their all black everything routine in the heat? I'm all about baby pinks, blues and lilac this summer - both on what I'm wearing and on my nails! I picked up a bunch of crops, off the shoulder tops and bodysuits from Bershka in these colours as well as a lilac tube skirt from Miss Guided that I'm in love with. Wear with a tan!
4. BODYSUITS
Very stylish, but also very annoying to go to for a wee in. I love pairing these with skinny ripped jeans (in London where I won't be sweating like a piggy) or with my stripped culottes. These are around everywhere and their styles vary, I'm also very into statement one piece swimsuits with slogans! (Mermaids Have More Fun is definitely the one for me).
5. BOX PLEATED MIDI SKIRTS
I find these so pretty and classy and they make me feel like I've been transported back to the 1950s. These can be dressed up or down for any occasion and I love wearing my short hair in curls a la Marilyn Monroe with it. Florals are my go to for these!
