GETTING A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP WITH KALMS & #WAKEUPREADY GIVEAWAY!

Wednesday 22 February 2017

My nocturnal days have somewhat subsided since I was 18 and staying up until 4am and then waking up at lunch time, but even now I'm not one of those people who can shut everything off at 10pm and fall asleep in 5 minutes - I question how people actually do this. I'm also anaemic which means I'm pretty much tired all the time. I know a good night’s sleep is something a lot of young adults struggle with, so I've collaborated with Kalms to provide luxurious giveaway!

ABOUT KALMS NIGHT

Kalms Night and Kalms Night One-A-Night are traditional herbal medicinal products used for the temporary relief of sleep disturbances, exclusively based on long standing use as a traditional herbal remedy - Contains Valerian Root. Always read the leaflet.

To offer assurance that Kalms Night meets the Traditional Herbal Registration (THR) requirements, the Certification Mark can be found on the product packaging.

IMPROVING SLEEP

1. Switch off. We're told over and over again to switch off all electronics at least an hour before bed, but even when I'm reading a book I still find myself checking my phone for messages. I now try and set my alarms etc. at 11:30pm and then leave my phone on my other desk and read for an hour. It definitely helps and gives your eyes a rest.

2. Go to bed and wake up at the same time. This is something I still struggle with, mainly because I'm only in university twice a week so for the rest of the week I don't see any point in waking up at 9am. However if I don't, I'll be up until 2am again and the cycle continues.

3. Avoid caffeine after 5pm. For all you coffee lovers, all this is going to do is have you tossing and turning in bed until 3am. Go for herbal teas in the evening if you still fancy a hot drink before bed.

4. Spray lavender on your pillow. This seems to have been clinically proven, I guess you could also cover yourself in lavender oil? It leaves you feeling more relaxed and peaceful.

5. Try sleep sounds. I've started using 'harbour seagulls and ocean waves' whilst I sleep, so I can pretend I'm sleeping in a beach house in Florida instead of rainy England. My sister's caught on with it too now so it must be somewhat useful (pair with an eye mask for ultimate immersion).
