Back in 2015 (forever ago I know) I had the great opportunity of living in Florida for 5 months on a student exchange. In that time I ventured around Florida and made a cheeky trip to New York but there is still a lot more of the U S of A I want to discover, as I feel like even though it's one big country there is a lot of contrast between states. From sunny California, to the dirty South, here are the top 5 cities in America that are sitting at the top of my bucket list.
1. Palm Springs, California.
Just the name sounds luxurious and relaxing. I think if I got to visit Palm Springs I would definitely have to do it the glam way and rent out a home with a bunch of my girl gang. Luxury Retreats offers some great homes for rent in Palm Springs if you want to spend your time there like a celebrity. I'm very much a summer person, so the fact that this place has over 350 days of sunshine sounds perfect to me. My tan would rock.
Apart from all the sun and beaches, there is plenty to do away from the sand too. It looks like the perfect mix between relaxation and adventure. You could spend one day wandering the palm tree lined streets, or get in touch with your more adventurous side and hike the ancient palm groves of the Indian Canyons. You have the aerial tramway, the indian canyons and if I was feeling adventurous, the San Jacinto mountain is there too.

2. Los Angeles, California.
I think I would spend a week here just to see if I bumped into Zac Efron or somehow got asked to be an extra in a movie and then find my big break. I've heard mixed thoughts about LA, but it's still a place I would like to experience for myself. I've always wanted to live in the states and although I loved New York, I feel like I don't very function very well in the cold. I'd need to live somewhere where the average temperature is above 10 degrees so Florida and California are both good shouts.
Another reason why I'd love to visit this place is because there is constant talk about all the great restaurants and ice-cream places there are here! Seeing as LA is a hub for celebrities and influencers alike, there is always pictures of great food and snacks plastered on my Instagram feed.

3. New Orleans, Louisiana.
This is probably top of my list as I think this city has so much character and life. I can just imagine spending my evenings in a bar listening to jazz music and eating gumbo and my days stuffing my face with beignets. My interest was probably sparked from watching The Originals as it's based there and it also looks like a place I'd enjoy living in and would not get bored in. Mardi Gras would probably be a top time to visit, as who doesn't love another excuse to get dressed up? I love the architecture and french inspired buildings of the city and is one of those cities I'm in love with without having been.

4. Nashville, Tennesse
What music fan wouldn't have this high on their list? It is where the king of rock n roll was made! Nashville is known for its vibrant music and entertaiment scene and isn't short of places to enjoy it. I'd start my trip off here with a trip to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and complete it with a tour of the RCA Studio B, where Elvis, Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson all recorded tracks.

5. Las Vegas, Nevada
I'd probably come here and regret it because I'd end up losing all my money in the casinos (I'm not a gambler so I have no idea how anything would work). However I like the idea of getting dressed up all sparkly and glam with a glass of champagne in my hand. Plus, Vegas is known to have the best parties, and as a party girl myself it would be rude not to experience what the place has to offer.
Aside from the wild side, there is a lot to do there for all types of travellers, and since I like a bit everything I'd probably have to stay here for a week. There are plenty of activities to get your adrenaline running like the Skyjump, Linq High Roller and Stratosphere observation tower which features rides at the top that make you feel like you're about to fall off the face of the earth.
