Ciao everyone! As some of you know, I'm also fluent in Spanish and French (sorta) and have been meaning to learn a new language for a while. So when I heard about Flashsticks I thought it would be a great starting point to learn some new foreign vocab. Keep reading to find out more about what they do!
About Flashsticks
Flashsticks offer a range of language post-it packs that are designed to help you learn 30+ words in an easy and fun way. Each post-it has the word written out along with how it's pronounced, a picture and it's translation. There is also a free app you can download to help you with the pronunciation of each word when you hover over each post it. They even come colour coded to make life easier for you! (blue for male, pink for female and green for nouns) They come in 7 languages including British Sign Language, English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese and Mandarin.
My Thoughts
I decided to go with Italian simply because it seemed the easiest for me to pick up on as it is pretty similar to Spanish! I started off by putting 6 words a day on my wall and have eventually been building it up. I love how easy they make it to learn the pronunciation, and being a visual learned the pictures definitely help most by associating the word with the image. Of course you're not going to become fluent in a language by just picking up this set, but it's definitely a fun way to learn and to ask for things when you're on holiday! You also have a choice to take on a monthly challenge of learning 30 words - which I can say I'm on my way to completing!
