5 TV SHOWS TO BINGE WATCH THIS MONTH, IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY.

Sunday 15 January 2017

If you're at university, then now is probably not a good time to binge watch anything if you're meant to be revising for exams, so maybe bookmark this post. Most of us will probably have a gap between exams and starting our new modules (a whole two weeks in my case) so what better time to sit in bed with a dominos pizza and Netflix, or cokeandpopcorn if you're not the proud owner of a subscription. Here are 5 TV Shows that are not necessarily brand new, but that some of you may not have come accross and deserve all of the viewings.

THE MISSING

I can't believe it took me so long to watch this show! Me and mum started watching this on Christmas Eve and watched all 8 episodes of season 1 in two sittings. The same thing happened with season 2 (which is the better of the two in my opinion) and I found myself having to watch the ending with my mum whilst my friends were pre-drinking in my room because I HAD to know what finally happened. You will also fall in love with detective Julien Baptise and will want to brush up on your French.

Plot: When Tony and Emily Hughes travel to France with their 5-year-old son Oliver, their family holiday turns into a nightmare when Oliver disappears from a large celebrating crowd in Northern France. Season 2 focuses on a teenage girl (Alice Webster) who gets abducted and then returns 10 years later, Julien Baptiste returns to investigate her abduction along with another girl Sophie who seemingly was kept with Alice, but something doesn't add up.

STRANGER THINGS

If you haven't watched this yet, then you're probably in the 1% of the population who haven't. I'm usually not into sci-fi but this series kept me clicking on 'next episode' for about 4 hours. Season 2 is currently in production but there's no set date for it yet, so you have plenty of time to catch up.

Plot: When a young boy disappears, his mother, a police chief, and his friends must confront terrifying forces in order to get him back.

BLACK MIRROR

This show really messes with your head and makes you fear for the future in technology, although I'd love to have a memory stick in my brain to record all my nights out in order to fill the blanks for me. Most episodes also seem to have a deeper meaning or life lesson, particularly Nosedive. Each episode differs from the other so there's no need to watch them in order although themes do build up. My top favourites would have to be: The Entire History Of You, White Christmas, Nosedive, Playtest, Shut Up And Dance and San Junipero.

Plot: A television anthology series that shows the dark side of life and technology.

THE OA

This show was released on Netflix last month and tie in very well with The Missing and Stranger Things, so if you're a fan of both you'll love this. There's only 8 episodes so you won't have to give up too much of your time.

Plot: Having gone missing seven years ago, the previously blind Prairie returns home, now in her 20s with her sight restored. While many believe she is a miracle, others worry that she could be dangerous.

A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS

I can't comment on this show from experience because this is what I'll be binge watching as from Wednesday, but I've heard good things about it and the show has been highly anticipated. I can't say I remember much from the movie just that there was a lot of weird stuff going on.

Plot: After the loss of their parents in a mysterious fire, the three Baudelaire children face trials and tribulations attempting to uncover dark family secrets.

I'm always looking for new stuff to watch especially since half of the shows I watch have finally reached their end date this year :( I'd love your recommendations in the comments. Happy Binge Watching!
