5 TV SHOWS TO WATCH ON NETFLIX THIS MONTH.

Thursday 8 June 2017

Hey guys, if you've been keeping up with my posts then you might know I finished university last month and I am officially unemployed, which means I have endless hours to dedicate to Netflix. It's been a while since I did one of these posts, I decide a monthly TV post wouldn't be ideal because I don't think I get through that many. Some of these may have launched earlier but I definitely think they're still worth the watch! So without further ado, here are 5 TV shows to watch on Netflix this month.

13 REASONS WHY

I spoke about this show in my May favourites, and I feel by now all the chat about it on social media has died down so you'll be free from spoilers if you haven't binge watched it yet. This show is only on its first season so you have plenty of time to watch it before season 2 comes along (it's still pretty far away). There's been a lot of debate whether season 2 should even be taking place as the book only goes as far as the first, but I am interested to see how some of the storylines unfold and the aftermath of some of the characters actions.

Plot: Follows teenager Clay Jensen, in his quest to uncover the story behind his classmate and crush, Hannah, and her decision to end her life.

RIVERDALE

Another show that's been talked about all over my twitter timeline, and why wouldn't you when it features some seriously sexy cast members. Again this is quite a teeny show so you might not find yourself relating to a lot of their problems but it still makes for good entertainment. The cast features Cole Sprouse, KJ Apa (who is only 19?!), Camila Mendes and Lili Reinhart.

Plot: A subversive take on Archie and his friends, exploring small town life, the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale's wholesome facade.

GIRLBOSS

I have a love-hate relationship with this show. I love Britt Robertson as an actress but find the main character (Sophia) extremely annoying, but I guess they're just trying to portray what Sophia Amoruso (founder of Nasty Gal) is really like from what I've heard. It's a great show to watch when you're looking for motivation to just go and kick ass with whatever you want to do with your life. Ru Paul lovers, he's also a regular on the show.

Plot: Sophia, a misfit, discovers a passion for fashion, becoming an unlikely businesswoman in the process. As her business grows, however, she has to learn to cope with life as her own boss. This show is loosely based on the true story of Nasty Gal Founder, Sophia Amoruso.

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK

This is just a reminder that Season 5 is coming to Netflix this Saturday!! So if you still haven't got round to watching this, you have 3 days to get through all the episodes. This is probably one of my favourite shows and I don't know if I prefer the fact we get all the episodes at once and then have to wait a year or have them staggered out. I wrote a blog post all about season 4 and what we could learn from it, and if you've seen the trailer for Season 5 then you can probably tell it's going to be explosive!

Plot: Convicted of a decade old crime of transporting drug money to an ex-girlfriend, normally law abiding Piper Chapman is sentenced to a year and a half behind bars to face the reality of how life changing prison can really be.

DEAR WHITE PEOPLE

Ok so I haven't actually got round to watching this all yet, but I've put it on the list because after watching the first two episodes I already know it's going to be promising and provide some real truths and laughs. This is also on its first season so you can get through this in a couple of nights if you wish to!

Plot: At a predominantly white Ivy League college, a diverse group of students navigate various forms of racial and other types of discrimination.

✨ Have you watched any of these shows yourself? What TV shows are you currently binge watching? ✨
