One of my favourite parts about the Christmas period, is that it's acceptable to be drunk at 12pm to wear red and sparkle and glitter as often as you like. I usually spend the 25th at my house for Christmas lunch which means I don't usually dress to the nine's, but there's always the office Christmas party, friends dinner do, the last Friday before Christmas eve, and of course the blow out of all blow outs, New Years Eve. NYE in Gibraltar is a funny one because I usually buy the most 'extravagant' dress to basically wander around the streets when I refuse to pay £100 for a ticket to a pretty average event. However this year, I'll be spending it in Barcelona, so you can already picture my excitement at being the human dancing woman emoji. Whatever your plans are this Christmas, here are my top picks for what to wear this party season.
This first number on this list (as seen on me) is from Cari's Closet, an Irish Boutique store that has dresses and outfits for all occasions. I was very lucky to be able to pick something from the store to share with you guys and I'd seen this style around and loved it, so when I saw they had this in stock it was my first choice straight away. This dress is perfect for the summertime but the colour also makes it perfect for a Christmas party (paired with a white or black faux fur coat and strappy heels). It makes me feel like I belong in Cinderella's castle with my prince charming.
For comfort;
If you're looking for something a bit more comfortable, and warm. Then you can't go wrong with a jumpsuit. These are so versatile and most of the time you can take them from day to night. Here are three of my picks:
2. Peace + love nude strappy embellished wide leg jumpsuit (£180)
For Sparkle;
I can't remember the last time I wore a sparkly outfit, which is why this year I've ordered plenty of them, which I can tell you about when my order eventually arrives.
For casual(ish);
Throughout the December period you also have those events where you want to look nice but a dress and heels might be a bit too much, this is where these bunch come in. Or for when the festivities are taking place at yours house but wearing pyjamas with guests might be a bit too informal.
3. Red double layer bandeau jumpsuit (£25)
For showstoppers;
Anyone who knows me can tell you my wardrobe is primarily made up of clothes that match my hair colour (and my lipsticks). Nothing makes you stand out in a room than wearing a bold red, or a floor scraping elegant number. So these will have that hottie in the corner of the room on NYE looking in your direction in no time.
Have you got your christmas outfits sorted? What events are you looking forward to over the next couple of weeks?
