STAYING MOTIVATED FOR THE GYM (ALL YEAR ROUND).

Wednesday 28 March 2018

There is 3 months left until summer guys, which means it's time for me to stop with the chocolate croissants and start drinking lemon water. Before we get into this, I'm not trying to preach that you have to go join a gym to get in shape just because summer is around the corner, but since I have noticed a sudden influx of people at my gym, I've gathered that this is the general motivation for people at the moment. The idea should be that you're working on your fitness all year round so that you don't have to go on a crash diet/fitness plan on the months leading up to summer - but with Easter coming up, I myself will probably be back to square 1 come April because I love 'bollos de hornazo'. Any who, these are some of my tips for staying motivated for the gym and making every workout count.

A SPRING READING CHALLENGE (THAT'S ACTUALLY DOABLE).

Sunday 25 March 2018

When I occasionally scroll through Pinterest, I see countless reading challenges and save them for future reference, but then I never actually go through with them. I love a good challenge, and I love discussing books, movies and all that jazz with the people around me and in the blogging world. SO I thought I'd make a reading challenge of my own! This is just the first of many and over the months I'd like to introduce other sort of challenges - whether it be about music, film or something completely random. If this flops and I'm the only one who takes part, who cares because we all know I love ticking things off lists anyway. So if you're looking for a reason to get back into reading, or want to join the discussion - I'd love for you to take part in my Spring reading challenge!

11 WAYS TO 'SPRING CLEAN' YOUR LIFE (AND NOT JUST YOUR HOME).

Wednesday 21 March 2018

Yesterday officially marked the first day of Spring, although I don't think Mr Weather Man got the MEMO because there has been a sufficient lack of sunflowers and sunshine. I like spring because it means I can wear mom jeans and a t-shirt and not be too hot or too cold, it's a great time for fashion. It's also a great time to get rid of a lot of stuff and make room for new things. When writing this post I thought to myself, why is spring cleaning even a thing? why is it superior to the other seasons? So like I said in my 'learning something new everyday as an adult' blog post, I googled it. Turns out it has a lot to do with biology, and that because we produce less melatonin in the winter we tend to be a bit lazier, so when Spring and the sun rolls around we should be full of energy and ready to get the birds and forest animals in to help clean the house. Now having a clean home is all good, but I think this is something we can apply to different aspects of our lives, not just our homes. Here are 11 ways we can declutter and spring clean our lives.

WHY THE BEST HOLIDAYS AREN'T ALWAYS THE MOST LUXURIOUS.

Wednesday 14 March 2018

It's normal that every year certain places around the world become popular as tourist destinations and because of the power of social media, influencers and word of mouth, everyone makes it their number 1 priority to visit Thailand, Dubai, Iceland or go to Glastonbury before these places are seen like 'old news'. For me, some of my favourite and most memorable trips have been an hour away from where I live or the first time I stayed in a youth hostel in Amsterdam (maybe for the wrong reasons).  I mean I wouldn't say no to staying in a 5 star resort in Barbados, as long as I was in good company and with good food. The great thing about travelling is that you don't need to earn a 6 figure pay check to do it, because at the end of the day you could grab five of your best friends and get on a plane to Bratislava and have a whale of a time. I decided to take a walk down memory lane to reminisce on what some of my most memorable trips have been.

THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING IN YOUR TWENTIES.

Monday 12 March 2018

Absolutely whatever you want, and when you want to do it. If you've been visiting my blog over the last month then you might have noticed I am a now proper adult who watches Ted talks before bed and calculates their projected monthly expenses. This week, I stumbled upon a video at lunchtime that was talking about how our 30s are not our new 20s and we shouldn't be procrastinating life - relationships, careers and stuff because we are using this decade as a trial period. Times have changed, and we are no longer the generation that takes the first job they're offered after university and leaves when it's time to receive our pension. We are a generation that are curious about the world, a little lost and we are not ready to settle and be moulded into what society thinks we should be doing in our 20s.

LET'S TALK ABOUT BADASS FEMALES ON THE BIG SCREEN.

Thursday 8 March 2018

I'd been planning this post to go live next week, but then I opened Instagram this morning and remembered, it's International Women's Day! So here I am trying to get my creative juices flowing to have this post up in time, because what better time to write a post celebrating empowering women on TV? I went to watch I, Tonya last night, and on the way out the cinema I suddenly felt a lot more badass and wanted to walk across to the ice skating rink in Leisure Centre and let out all the adrenaline that had built up during the movie. Whenever I watch a film/TV show with a strong/cool/badass/boss female character I get a burst of inspiration and motivation to be the same, and so this post is dedicated to some of the characters that inspire that feeling.

FEBRUARY FAVOURITES & HIGHLIGHTS.

Sunday 4 March 2018

This post is slightly overdue, but here I am to tell you guys what movies, make-up, music, shows and things I've been obsessing with over February. I sometimes don't manage to do these posts every month, but I like them because they're a bit more personal and allows me to reflect back on what I was digging at a certain time in the year. If you follow me on Twitter then a few of these are probably obvious choices, because when I like something I don't hold back. Here are my February lifestyle and beauty favourites.

MY SPRING HOLIDAY WISH LIST WITH ZAFUL

Friday 2 March 2018

So in just over a month I'll be heading off on a mini Europe trip for two weeks - originally we were meant to be doing this with just hand luggage but then realised if we did that we'd look the same in all our photos and would end up going out in the evening in a pair of Nike's. I've been pretty good with not buying clothes this year, mainly so I can buy a couple of new pieces for my trip, and to of course save money. I've bought bikinis from Zaful before, and thought they were great value for money, so here's my packing wish list.
