So I stopped doing these half way through last year, but thought I'd pick up on them again! Even though some months I'll be a broke ass b**** so you'll just be seeing products from boots on here, but seeing as January meant sales...I couldn't resist picking up a few deals. Some of these were bought by myself and others were given to me by certain companies - but they'll all include my honest opinion - enjoy!
FACE
Mac Studio Fix liquid foundation
I must admit, I used this product 4 years ago and then gave up on it because it was way too much coverage for a 17 year old but now I feel like I can get away with it, more so the colours actually match my skin tone. I use NC20 and personally I prefer the NC (neutral cool) foundation for the winter than the NW (neutral warm) as it makes my face look orange.
Mac amplified "Half n Half" lipstick
Truthfully I've only used this a handful of times as It's quite light and I prefer a darker nude (taupe and twig are my current favourites) but it looks great if you want to go for a neutral look.
Mac matte "Antique Velvet" lipstick
If you didn't manage to get your hands on one of Kylie Jenner's lipkits, then this is a great dupe for "True Brown" and half the price! The colour is a very dark brown with a wine undertone and it's quite an intense look. As with all the matte mac lipsticks, it can get quite dry so I use the moisturising stick (from the Maybelline lipstick) to keep it smooth and stop it cracking.
Maybelline "Always Crimson" super stay lipstick
At only £7 they're definitely worth stocking up on! I've bought a couple of these lately, and they're colours are quite pigmented and actually stay on for hours and they have about 10 shades of red so there's a red lip for everyone! As mentioned the moisturising stick really helps in that you barely have to re-apply the lip colour throughout the day.
HAIR
VO5 "Give Me Texture"
Now that my hair is super short, it's harder to just get out of bed and leave it naturally or I look like I've come from the Jackson 5 band. I'm not high maintenance enough to curl/straighten my hair daily so this is perfect and easy for that "beachy wave" look.
Tresemme styling spray
Now that my hair is actually in pretty healthy condition I'm going to try and keep it that way. I probably use heated appliances on my hair like once a week but I thought I'd start getting into routine of using this - plus it smells great.
BODY
Yes to Blueberries shampoo & conditioner *
Yesto. offer natural shampoo and conditoners for all hair types including dry, itchy scalp, greasy, frizzy and normal/fine hair. I chose the blueberry set to help with my "frizzy" hair and the shampoo and conditioner includes anti-oxidant rich fruit extracts including Kale and Shea Butter to help smooth frizzy hair and provide shine. This stuff smells great and it's easy to rinse off, It also comes at an affordable price of £5.00. All their products are natural, free from parabens and are cruelty free. You can also try them in coconut, carrot and cucumber!
Lavera Rose shower gel and body lotion *
THIS STUFF SMELLS SO GOOD. Lavera is one of the leading natural cosmetic brands in the world, trusted for its formations that are free from chemical nasties, while combining the best classical, natural and organic ingredients. I chose the wild rose set and I am so in love with it, I leave the shower feeling like a turkish delight. The shower gel creates a decent amount of lather and combined with the body lotion, you'll have a scent that doesn't fade for hours.
Hello pink grapefruit breath spray *
These are the cutest breath sprays I've ever seen. Your usual options at the drugstore are usually boring and mint flavoured, and let's face it most people don't bother with carrying these around. However these adorable breath sprays from Hello are compact, come in cute pods and come in fun flavours like mojito mint, pink grapefruit mint and super mint. The effects last, and with Valentine's Day just around the corner, they might come in handy. They're also great for couples who don't want don't want that "morning breath" getting in the way of a morning kiss.
Fab little bag *
This was actually one of the products I received this month, and even though I'd never thought about trying this, it's actually such a useful and handy product. They're small disposable bags created to throw your tampons in when there is no bin to be found or you don't want to throw it openly in someone else's bin. It uses a unique patented finger loop which allows you to open and seal with one hand, providing a hygienic and discreet disposal solution.
Garnier summer body lotion
I first tried this when I was staying at a friends house and I sneakily tried it from their bathroom - but at the time I wasn't aware it was a "gradual tanner" so ended up with orange hands. I'm relatively brown throughout the summer being from Gibraltar, but to maintain my tan throughout the year this lotion does the trick and keeps it looking natural, and smells like apricots!
O.P.I Lucky Lucky Lavender & Berlin There Done That
I'm loving pink nails lately, and this shade goes great with any skin type and you can apply more layers for a darker colour. The Berlin colour is a dark greyish brown which also looks great for the winter months.
